A Washington state sheriff went on the defensive after the NFL made?a statement?about how his office handled information requests into a domestic violence investigation against New York Giants kicker Josh Brown. The NFL said its investigators had repeatedly attempted to obtain more information on Brown but were denied by the King County Sheriff John Urquharts office.Urquhart told Seattle radio station KIRO?on Thursday that the investigator never identified himself as being part of the league. NFL, National Football League, he could have [said] any of that, Urquhart said. Robert Agnew, Comcast.net, post office box in Woodinville. We had no idea who this yokel is.The King County Sheriffs Office investigated Brown -- a former Seattle Seahawks player -- for domestic violence in 2015. The misdemeanor charge was dropped within days of Browns arrest in Woodinville, Washington, last May.?Nowhere on the request does he say that [Agnew] works for the NFL and so, we don't know that its the NFL and were not gonna give it out anyway, so we denied it, Urquhart said Thursday. In one of Browns journal entries obtained as part of the investigation, he wrote, I have abused my wife. The sheriffs office released more than 150 pages of documents on Wednesday that appear to show evidence of Browns physical and verbal abuse of his ex-wife on more than 20 occasions.Natalie Ravitz, the NFLs senior vice president of communications, posted in a series of tweets Friday morning that the league made multiple requests to the King County Sheriffs Office in 2015 for information regarding Browns arrest. Ravitz also tweeted photos of two documents -- the leagues public information request and a police report -- which she said proves that the NFL attempted to gather the information. In an interview with BBC Sport, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reiterated that the league asked repeatedly for more information on Brown and wasnt able to gain access to it.We take this issue incredibly seriously, he told BBC Sport. This is something weve been working on with policy changes, to educating our players to make sure they understand how they deal with issues with their family, give them resources to be able to deal with this. But when it happens were not going to tolerate it. So we have some new information here, well evaluate that in the context of our policy, and well take it from there.Brown received a one-game suspension from the league earlier this season, but the NFL now plans to review the new information.Asked whether Brown can expect further punishment, Goodell told BBC Sport, The policy the way its structured right now is for an incident. And it can be reduced or increased on the basis that first offense is six games, second offence is banishment. So its the only policy, the only issue where we have that type of penalty.Urquhart said other investigators identified themselves as NFL representatives but they were denied since it was an open investigation.?Urquhart said if the league had gone through proper public disclosure channels, the request would have gone straight to him, and he?would have been able to help out more.I would have said exactly the same thing, We cannot release the case file,?he said. But since this is a hot-button item in the NFL, since its the NFL, we probably would have told them orally a little bit more about what we had.?I don't like to get pushed around by a bully. The league released the following full statement Thursday, regarding Browns case:NFL investigators made repeated attempts -- both orally and in writing -- to obtain any and all evidence and relevant information in this case from the King County Sheriffs Office. Each of those requests was denied and the Sheriffs Office declined to provide any of the requested information, which ultimately limited our ability to fully investigate this matter. We concluded our own investigation, more than a year after the initial incident, based on the facts and evidence available to us at the time and after making exhaustive attempts to obtain information in a timely fashion. It is unfortunate that we did not have the benefit or knowledge of these materials at the time.In light of the release of these documents yesterday, we will thoroughly review the additional information and determine next steps in the context of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy. We will not be making any comments on potential discipline until that time. The Giants announced Thursday that Brown will not travel with the team to London for Sundays game against the Los Angeles Rams. The team said it will review the newly released documents from the Brown investigation and revisit the issue when the team returns from London. Air Max 2017 Flyknit . After slipping from the summit during the week, the Gunners overcame struggling Crystal Palace 2-0 on Sunday thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlains second-half brace. Pedro scored from a pass by Lionel Messi in the 33rd minute and added two more goals in the 47th and 72nd after Valdes saved his second penalty in four days following his stop in Wednesdays 4-0 over Ajax in the Champions League. Air Max 90 Ultra Moire . Third-seeded Murray had the easiest path to victory on New Years Eve, barely breaking a sweat during his 6-0, 6-0 win over 2,129th-ranked Qatari wildcard recipient Mousa Shanan Zayed. Nike Air Max Scontate . Neymar curled home a free kick from just outside the area to put the 2014 World Cup host ahead in the 44th minute. Three minutes after the break, a simple through pass from Paulinho freed Oscar and the Chelsea star rounded goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryong to extend Brazils lead. A sea of bright Netherlands orange illuminated a most unlikely place.Back in 2008, the nation with about 16 million people at the time, in an area roughly half the size of Indiana, played for the Olympic gold medal in womens field hockey. Its opponent was the host nation, China, which boasted a population of about 1.3 billion. One would never have guessed those numbers, judging by the crowd. It was largely filled with orange, the standout color on the Netherlands uniforms. The Dutch won, and Beijing seemed more like Amsterdam, Rotterdam or The Hague. There was orange everywhere, said Max Caldas, an assistant coach for that team who now is the mens head coach. We are very proud about our colors and very proud to represent the country. The small nation between Belgium and Germany has put up big field hockey results for nearly a century, and the sport holds a significant place in its culture. The Oranje men have won two Olympic gold medals and three World Cups. They won their first Olympic medal, a silver, in 1928 in Amsterdam. The womens team is ranked No. 1 in the world and is seeking its third consecutive gold medal in Rio de Janeiro. It has won the World Cup a record seven times, with the first title coming in the inaugural event in 1974. No other nation has won more than twice.Field hockey trails only soccer in interest in the Netherlands. The nations hockey federation said some 253,000 people play club hockey there -- roughly one in 67 residents. They see the national teams playing up close, they can mimic and copy, and you see a huge amount of success from that model, said Craig Parnham, the U.S. womens coach who lived in the Netherlands and speaks Dutch. Success breeds success.Several factors have helped the nation overcome its small population. The Netherlands, among the worlds wealthiest nations per capita, has committed significant resources to the advancement of the game, starting at the youth level. Australia mens coach Graham Reid remembers playing in the Netherlands, back when there were about 40 artificial surfaces in the country, a huge number at the time. Now, the nations hockey federation said the country has 880 artificial surfaces -- a massive number for such a small nation, and importantt because of the way the sport beats up grass fields.ddddddddddddTheres a lot of money in the sport over there, which allows them to develop training programs, to develop things that help develop players and the player base, participation numbers, Reid said. The way the teams play grab attention, too. Their aggressive style of play influenced the total football style the Dutch soccer team used to finish second at the 1974 mens World Cup. In total football, versatile players seamlessly switch positions, allowing the team to maintain its organizational structure. The nations mens and womens sides are known for successful penalty corners and well-placed passes. For example, in the 2008 Olympics, Maartje Paumen led the womens tournament with 11 goals, all on penalty corners. No other player scored more than five goals in the tournament.Reid used fanatical, almost to describe the way the nation develops technical skills.Dutch hockey are trailblazers in the way they play, said Caldas, who coached the Netherlands women to gold in 2012. Always had very creative players. We always had a great penalty corners, best in the world for men and the women. that's a part of our DNA.Four former womens International Hockey Federation (FIH) players of the year -- Naomi van As (2009), Paumen (2011, 2012), Ellen Hoog (2014) and Lidewij Welten (2015) -- are on the current roster for a nation that has had six different winners. Even with the individual success, the teams rich tradition keeps the stars focused on the big picture. Each player has a different ability, Netherlands womens coach Alyson Annan said. Each player can do something that some girls can't. They learn and identify and share with each other, and when someone is weaker at something than another, they fill the gaps for each other. On the mens side, Robert van der Horst was the FIH player of the year last year. In the past, Teun de Nooijer won three times and Stephan Veen won twice for the Dutch. To have a nation like that produce so many great hockey players is quite phenomenal, Reid said.---Follow Cliff Brunt on Twitter (at)CliffBruntAP Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
