Alright. Thudo is working on getting us some professional voice actors. the only thing we need now is voice scripts (what the unit should say when moving/attacking/...)

Here is the template to use to write your voice scripts per unit. I ask everyone here to STRICTLY adhere to it! While single lines are not bad all they will do is clutter up this thread. so please take the time to write a complete voice script. I'm including a list of units that need new voices below.

This is what I drummed up for Thudo and the EC mod. Sorry its not in format but I'll edit that later!

NOISE MARINES

Construction:

'(feedback/like an audio check)'

Just one thing: do units normally say anything when they die? Only example I recall is Tau commanders "Carry on without me" so maybe speech as death sounds should be restricted to commanders? Just a thought.

Yeah I agree, I think the death quotes should be like the wimpy eldar ahhhh~ most of the time. Also, in terms of constructive criticism, I think many of the lines are too long, it slows down the pace of the game somewhat.

Blas, I'm picturing Traitor Militia as ex-Guard/mercenary forces. Thus one part English, one part American, and one part humour.

Also, not all of those lines will be applicable (Guardsmen, last time I checked, don't jump or teleport), I just filled every line for neatness' sake. I also kept most of the "action" lines short, the longer ones are reserved for events which have more free time allocated to them (point capture, unit complete, etc).

Outstanding, script writers! Keep your own individual units updated in your own messages. Try not to start new messages adding lines as mentioned as then it gets confusing for the team to piece everything together.

Keep going guys.. I secured some awesome Ork voice actors but I still see the above voice scripts NOT completed in some areas. Please endeavour to do so at your earliest. Keep updating your own messages with the specific units being done, not just Orks of course.

REMEMBER to fill in your unit scripts based on the FIRST POST! Its important to get a lot of Unit_Complete, Selection, Move, and Attack --> these are the most often used in-game.

OH AND NOTE: add in a tiny blurb talking about the general personality of your War40k unit. ie. throaty, insane, calm, authoritarian, hot-headed..

Follow this guideline:

mellow, surfer, old, army general... basically you can use stereotypes of people to signify what kind of voice you're looking for. The army general would be loud and throaty. The surfer would be smooth and throaty.

The state of mind is fine too. (Insane, depressed, fanatic.)

You can also say that someone should sound like Marvin from H2G2, or Vegeta from Dragonball Z, or Scar from The Lion King.

Here's a bunch of keywords I've happened upon:
Deep, nasal, throaty, raspy, purring, subdued, vicious, evil, aggressive, polite, upper-class, sensitive, paranoid, depressed, old, dumb, excited.

Well some Ork Soldiers sound a tad different than others do they not? BadDoks to Sluggas to Ards? I mean.. I guess they all sound all meanie-like whereas Snotlings being fired from a Shokk Attack Gun would be utterly insane. The BigMek holding the gun would obviously be a brute.

Yes they have knowledge but then again why do they to know? As long as they can pull if off their gold OR I simply send them some in-game samples of our beloved vanilla Orks.

Btw, Skrakar.. can you finish off your Kommandoz and Lootaz lines? There are some missing like deepstrike, charge, damage, etc.. Yeah I know maybe the current FoK build doesn't have such functions for the squad but its better to air on the side of caution because someday a design decision may require such a function. It does not remotely hurt to have such lines there as its no extra effort for the voice actors.

Btw, Skrakar.. can you finish off your Kommandoz and Lootaz lines? There are some missing like deepstrike, charge, damage, etc.. Yeah I know maybe the current FoK build doesn't have such functions for the squad but its better to air on the side of caution because someday a design decision may require such a function. It does not remotely hurt to have such lines there as its no extra effort for the voice actors.

Okay, I finished up the undivided terminators - the special abilities are blank, because they haven't one (as I know).

The Sternguards ready also (and I changed some unit complete script), except the abilities -> I have a question:
Their abilities are the frag, krak, and melta bombs... so how this going to work?
The scripts are randomized between abilities, or each one have their own??

Example: they throw a frag, and the line maybe will be "blow away the armor!" (melta bomb speach) not fit.

So, how this work?
