Was bored today as Gale force winds destroyed my community for most of the afternoon. I got to thinking that I might better learn more about sounds and programs used in editing them so that one day I just might be able to help out here.

I guess I am looking for some good sites and tutorials should anybody know of them. More information is never a bad thing when looking to learn new skills etc.

You could try Audacity, it's what I use to mess around with engine/weapon sounds in Blitzkrieg (don't think I'm some kind of pro though...), and it has a quite helpful tutorial (for the standard version, not the newer, beta ones).
